A Semi-Transparent Lad WeirdSciCon Tie-In Adventure, part 2: Going to the Con!

It's the day of the WeirdSciCon. Ben went to bed early last night (sometime around midnight) so he could be up bright & early the night morning. It's now 10:00 am, the convention started an hour ago & Ben is still in bed.

Then, there is knock at his front door. Ben gets up. He is wearing a pair of dark blue shorts, a grey t-shirt with a pleasant tropic scene on it. The shirt was given to him by his parents after they got back from Hawaii. He shuffles towards the front door. The knocking continues.

"I'm coming. Just keep your pants on." Ben mumbles to himself.

He gets to the door & unlocks the various locks on his door. He opens the door slightly.

"Yes?" Ben says sleepily. He then yawns.

"Your not dressed yet?" Brooke Lynn Bridge says as she pushes her way into Ben's apartment. Brooke is Ben's lifelong friend & guest from when they go to the WeirdSciCon.

Ben found out that he could take a guest with him at his special FMRC discounted price. Given that Ben doesn't know a lot of people, his choices of who to take was limited. His brother does want to have anything with him, Laura is out of town, Sonic Boom hasn't been into the Gulp 'N Go for awhile & Ben doesn't know how to contact him other wise. So, He decided to take Brooke. Also, if she didn't get to, she would hurt Ben & he doesn't want to be hurt.

"Come on! Get a move, little doggie. We've got a Convention to get to!" Brooke said as she pushed Ben back to his bedroom. "Get dressed, we need to go!."

Ben got dressed in his normal clothes & went back out into the main part of his apartment. Brooke was looking at a magazine, then looked up to see Ben.

"Your not wearing that are you?" She asked.

"Yeah. Why?" Be said. He didn't see anything wrong with what he was wearing. His clothes were all clean or at least didn't have any noticeable stains on them.

"Were going to a place crawling with Super Heroes, Super Villains & other people of that sort, you will wear your costume!" Brooke said forcefully.

"But, It itches!"

"I don't care! Your wearing your costume!" Brooke yelled.

"ok, mom." Ben said, under his breath & went back to his bedroom to change.

A few minutes later, Ben returned in his FMRC issue costume. It is a bland grey with a red oval on his chest. The oval has 3 yellow letters on it "STL". Ben also has on his belt with multiple pouches on it. He also has his black leather boots on.

"You know what?" Brooke said, looking at Ben in his costume.

"What?"

"I see what you mean when you say that your costume sucks."

"I guess it goes with my power. A suck ass costume for a suck ass power." Ben said, with a slight smile.

"Your power doesn't suck!" Brooke said as she tried to cheer Ben up.

"I can turn mostly invisible, not completely. Just mostly invisible."

"So?"

"My power sucks, trust me."

"Ok. Don't you have a mask or something?"

"No. I was told that the FMRC doesn't believe in Masks."

"But, isn't Mr. Epitome your mascot?"

"He's the spokesman."

"Ok & doesn't he wear a mask?"

"Yeah. I brought that up, too & was told he was an exception."

"oh."

The duo have now left the building. They have to catch the commuter express to Parrodipolis because they have a Convention to go to! As they head to the convention, Ben gets a feeling of impending doom.


NEXT TIME: Ben is at the Con & this part will have guest stars!
